There isn't a lot to the installation of the # C79VV so it is likely one of two things. The first is the ground connection. Double check the ground connection and make sure it is secure on a clean, bare-metal surface.
The other possibility is that your connectors aren't all the way together. Go ahead and pull each apart and reconnect to make sure they are fully seated. If that doesn't fix the problem feel free to reach out and I will help you troubleshoot further.

The easiest set of tire chains to install on the 255/55R20 tires on your 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander are the Konig K-Summit Tire Chains # TH02230K77. Yes, it will. We've sold a few of these and have heard back from some of our customers that have said the Curt Hitch item # C26VV does not affect the functionality of the kick sensor. What typically happens in situations like this is you lose the sensor right around the 2" receiver which isn't a problem because you don't want to be kicking towards it anyways and you have to go to the left or right.
